We’re extremely happy to announce the release of our newest single: Give It All. Click on the photo below to give it a listen!
We’re celebrating the release with a show tonight at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco.
We have a very special announcement: Con Brio is releasing the lead single off our new EP on Nov. 11th, and we are celebrating with a blowout release show at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco.
The party will be turned up to eleven. It’s our first headlining slot in our hometown for quite a while, and we intend to take full, funky advantage of it. Guy Fox, one of our favorite bands in SF, is opening. They’ve got all the goods: stellar chops, killer songwriting, angelic vocals. This is the show to come early and stay late.
You can get your tickets for our “Give It All” Single Release Party at Rickshaw Stop, Friday Nov. 7th here: TICKETS
We’re expecting this great venue to sell out, so don’t wait until it’s too late!
“Give It All” as a song encapsulates what we’re trying to do with the new record: it’s soulful, driving, and heartfelt. We’re extremely excited to share it with you. The full EP will be released in early 2015 (it’ll be worth the wait, we promise!).
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are sublimely pleased to announce the release of our latest single: Never Be The Same. Long a live staple, this song has always been an extra special moment at shows and we’re happy to get it on record.
Check the new song out for yourself over at our Bandcamp store, where it is available for your streaming and/or downloading pleasure. Name your own price, easy as pie.
If you *really* dig the new grooves, it’s totally alright to share your unbridled excitement on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tinder, or whatever the next big thing is. Just saying.
“Never Be The Same” is the newest tune from our forthcoming EP, to be released by Burning House Records this fall. Each track has been an adventure in recording, reimagining our live sound for the space between your headphones, and we hope you get as many vibes out of it as we tried to put into it. “Never Be The Same” was recorded by Yosh! at Faultline Studios in San Francisco and with additional recording and mixing by our very own resident bassist Jonathan Kirchner.
Marcus Stephens (Jazz Mafia, Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra, Secret Sidewalk) is the very very bad man responsible for the epic future-sax solo within, so make sure to buckle your seat belts.
Oh, and keep your eyes and ears open – there’s more where that came from.
It’s time to get down, get hot and heavy, sultry and sweaty. We’re going back to the Boom Boom Room next Saturday, June 7th! If you’ve ever been to one of our Boom Boom shows, you know how wild it gets as we jam late into the night. We go for broke every time, and you (yes, you!) don’t want to miss it.
We’ve got rising funk phenoms Sal’s Greenhouse opening up the night, and it’ll be grooving from first note to last, guaranteed.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, and it’s straight-up free before 8:30!
Music starts at 9:30, and we play ’til your feet give out.
See you soon!
Just one week from today we will be tearing the roof off The New Parish with our friends The Family Crest and Gaston. That’s Thursday, May 22nd folks, and it’s right around the corner. The Family Crest have been friends of ours for a while, and we’ve been delighted to see their unique blend of soaring orchestral indie really take off this year.
So when they called and asked us to come down and tear it up next week, the answer was a no-brainer. We love playing in Oakland, there’s no way around it. Y’all just know how to do it right. So ride the heat wave with us next Thursday - we promise you’ll have a booty-shaking good time!

See you soon.
Saturday night at the Independent! It’s the party that won’t stop for the 5-year anniversary of the Motown on Monday (MOM) DJs. If you’re not familiar with the concept… it’s pretty self-explanatory. And awesome.
They’ll be spinning hits all night long, and we’ll be there to lay the funk down like it should. Con Brio has been in the lab perfecting this set, and it’s going to be a scorcher! Also appearing are Brass Magic and The Hitsville Soul Sisters. It’s going to be the dance party to end all dance parties, so if you like fun (and who doesn’t?) don’t miss it!
This Friday, May 2nd is our first appearance at Oakland’s newest and grooviest music venue, Awaken Cafe, as well as our first appearance at Art Murmur AKA First Friday AKA the best damn party in the Bay.
It’s Oaktown at its finest and a cooler scene you will not find anywhere. We’re playing with Ghost And The City (who are totally badass) and they kick the show off at 9pm. Did we mention it’s FREE?
We love playing in Oakland – and we don’t get the chance to nearly as often as we should – so come out and support live music and make sure we can keep coming back as often as humanly possible. It’s going to be packed so get there early.
It’s lean, it’s mean, it’s our grooving requiem to moving up and getting down! Check out the first single from our forthcoming EP and dig our newest sonic adventure. We had a blast recording this track and we hope you like it!
We are proud to announce our next San Francisco throwdown will be with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe at The Independent on Saturday, March 15th! Karl is a modern funk legend, with credits ranging from Lenny Kravitz to The Greyboy Allstars, Slightly Stoopid and Soulive. One of the hardest working bands in the land, KDTU has been touring for 15 years, and are currently on the road supporting their new record, New Ammo. We can’t wait to share the stage with these guys. It’s going to be one heavy, funky show - don’t miss it!

On Saturday, Feb. 22nd, we will be teaming up with DRMS and systemritual to create one of the most unusual concerts you’ll see this year. Combining DRMS’ (pronounced Dreams) brilliant and ultra-cool electro-indy soundscapes with the signature Con Brio fire will make for a aesthetic and emotional journey like you’ve never experienced before.
DRMS is releasing American 707, a beautiful film they made with director Elia Vargas.
It’s our only SF show in February, and we can’t wait to throw down.
