On Saturday, Feb. 22nd, we will be teaming up with DRMS and systemritual to create one of the most unusual concerts you’ll see this year. Combining DRMS’ (pronounced Dreams) brilliant and ultra-cool electro-indy soundscapes with the signature Con Brio fire will make for a aesthetic and emotional journey like you’ve never experienced before.
DRMS is releasing American 707, a beautiful film they made with director Elia Vargas.
It’s our only SF show in February, and we can’t wait to throw down.
Tasked with creating our own version of Sly Stone’s “Sex Machine” for UnderCover Presents: Sly & The Family Stone’s Stand!, we couldn’t help but take the titular spirit of the 14-minute jam and try to put the whole world in the mood. Check the new track out and take it home with you:
That’s right, we’re spending three more nights at one of our favorite rooms in San Francisco – The Independent – to pay tribute to one of the Bay’s Greatest: Sly & The Family Stone! Con Brio is extremely proud to be one of 9 local bands playing down the entire Stand! album. Each band will do one track off the record, and each one is phenomenal. We can’t recommend this show enough. Jazz Mafia? Bayonics? Tumbleweed Wanderers? Marcus Shelby? A 50-piece Orchestra? It’s going to be nuts.

All three nights are going to sell out, so don’t sleep on it! See you soon!
We can’t wait for our first show of the year! 2014 goes off with a bang at The Independent in San Francisco, where we’re opening for local Gypsy Rock Superstar Pyromaniacs DIEGO’S UMBRELLA on January 11th. The energy is going to be through the roof!

We’ve been in the studio (shh!) cooking up the future of Con Brio, so while we can’t share anything yet, we’ll have some enthusiasm to burn this Saturday- don’t miss it!
What more is there to say? We can’t wait to go back to our funky hometown hang and really let loose this Friday. Not enough? It’s free before 9pm and general-badass Mike Dillon takes the late shift at 1am. Get there by 10pm to catch El Metate.
Oh, it’s gonna be good.
The Facebook Event (cause if it’s on Facebook, it’s real).
Ladies and Gentlefolk,
This is a friendly reminder to grab your Great American Music Hall tickets for Nov. 2nd while you still can. They’re going fast and we’ve working up one hell of a show for you, featuring brand new music and one of our favorite iterations of Con Brio to date:
Ziek McCarter – Vocals
Benjamin Andrews – Guitar
Micah Dubreuil – Keyboards
Jonathan Kirchner – Bass
Andrew Laubacher – Drums
Joe Cohen – Tenor Saxophone
Marcus Stephens – Tenor Saxophone
Henry Hung – Trumpet
That’s right – it’s octet time! We can’t wait to play for you next Saturday, so come check out the big bad thing – along with the cool-grooving Quinn DeVeaux & The Blue Beat Review and Whiskerman – on Nov. 2nd.
That’s right! We’re going back to the most beautiful venue in San Francisco on Nov. 2nd. Not only will we be there to light the place up and tear the roof off, but our close friends Quinn Deveaux and The Blue Beat Review will be dropping two new albums (!) and the ever-righteous Whiskerman will be starting things off right.
Grab your Tickets here!
In the meantime, we’ve got a lot on our plate, including a new video and an upcoming performance at the Rickshaw Stop on Sept. 24th for Tunes4Tubes, a fundraiser for the SF Bicycle Coalition. We’ll also be appearing at the Torch Club in Sacramento on Oct. 11th – always a grand sweaty time.
See you soon!
We are really excited to present the brand new video of our our brand new band with our brand new song: Temptation’s Talking! We hope you enjoy it.
We suggest watching this baby in HD ’cause it was shot by longtime Con Brio cohort Peter Lee and it’s fresh as can be!
Dig it? Want more of the action? Make sure to grab your ticket now to our show this Friday at Cafe Du Nord!
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Con Brio is back and stronger than ever! After months of experimenting in the lab, we’re happy to say that Version 2.0 has arrived, and it’s here to stay! We’ve added some soaring, screaming new guitar and vocals to the gritty O.G. rhythm section, and the results are righteous. But have no fear, this is a just fresh twist on an old favorite – it’s new funk, but the same soul.
We are extremely excited to introduce the new band at Cafe Du Nord on July 12th in San Francisco. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves – you want to meet the fellas?
Now standing front and center you’ll find soul sensation Zeik McCarter. Young and hungry, this cat has been devouring the SF funk scene since his arrival just a few short years ago, playing with Afrolicious, Steppin’, and many others. We’re very excited to share his uncontainable energy and raw, uncut talent with all of you.
And what about the guitar, you ask? Well over in the red corner we’ve got Mr. Benjamin Andrews, a real six-string samurai with chops to burn and feel for miles. The dude is seriously B.A.D., and we couldn’t be happier to introduce him to ya’ll.
It’s a brave new world and we are having a hell of a lot of fun making our way. Please join us with our friends Whiskerman and Hogs of Change at Cafe Du Nord on July 12th to see what all the fuss is about. It’s going to be a hell of a show.

Thank you so much for your love and support. The first-generation members of the band couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to continue making and sharing the music we love, and we can’t wait to hit the stage with the brand new thing!
